Here are 5 ways to care for yourself after acupuncture:
2. Rest. I don't mean you have to lie down and take a nap, although that would be an added bonus, instead just take it easy and "chill." Don't stay up till the wee hours of the morning, or help your friend move in their new sofa. Try to stay calm and quiet. Some people get a real jolt of energy, just savor it.
3. Use Heat. If you experience a little discomfort use heat. Wet down and wring out an appropriate sized hand towel or wash cloth and let it heat up in the microwave for 30 seconds and apply to the area. This is great help and feels good.
4. Avoid Coffee and Alcohol. You should stay hydrated after acupuncture so DRINK WATER.Water will help flush the toxins out of your body. Both alcohol and coffee will either stimulate or numb your body awareness. Just try to stay away from either for at least a day so you can be more mindful of your body and sensational changes.
5. Turn off the Boob Tube! An acupuncture treatment should bring you into a place of balance.
A place to retreat from the daily simulations of life. You have been down shifted. Take an afternoon or evening to enjoy your peacefulness without television.
