Acupuncture and The Heart

LISTEN TO THIS POST

The heart is an entity that is continuously at work.

There is so much research done around the heart because heart disease is the number one killer in the  United States.  However, it's still not controlled and the issues concerning the heart are on the incline.
Both forms of medicine, those being Western and Chinese, have many similarities.

The heart is seen as the core of the circulatory system. If there is an issue with the heart's ability to circulate or if the heart is weak, then there are many ailments.

Some of these ailments that many have experienced at one point or another could include: chest pains, heart palpitations, an over accelerated heart rate, among many other things.

That being said, there are also significant differences in the views between Western Medicine and Chinese Medicine.

Western Medicine views the body as a machine, with the heart being the pump, the lungs as bellows, the intestinal tract being the plumbing, the brain as the computer, and the joints being hinges that rust with age.

Chinese Medicine, on the other hand, sees the heart as more of a housing for the mind, meaning consciousness and the emotional spirit.

The modern world is involved more with stress, anxiety, and depression, which all greatly relate to heart disease.

Chances are that many of you, in one way or another, rely on some form of Western Medicine.

it could be in the form of medication such as pills, or on the other hand could be in the form of therapy that goes over the mental aspect of conditions opposed to the physical aspect.

While those forms of treatment may work well for you or work sufficiently enough for you to function in an acceptable way, Chinese Medicine, could be just as beneficial if not more so.

A large problem with many forms of Western Medicine is that the medications can form dependencies and also tolerances, which requires you to take more and more of the medications, thus costing you more time and money not to mention some severe side effects.

My form of treating problems at Kansas City Acupuncture,  is in a relaxed environment, using nothing but natural and safe treatments, and aims more toward eliminating the problem, rather than requiring lifelong treatment to just hide the problem.
